The one-stop app “makes it easy for the public to stay connected and informed by public safety and public works officials during day-to-day incidents, happenings, and disasters,” the township Office of Emergency Management said.
Emergency alerts (push notifications) are one of its most significant features: You can automatically receive township-related alerts, as well as alerts from the National Weather Service on the moderate to severe levels.
The app displays local weather, the 7-day weather forecast and radar.
It also helps you gather everything you’d need in case of an emergency:
- “My Info” is a shareable list to keep important family, medical, and insurance contacts at your fingertips;
- “Checklist” helps you determine what supplies you will need for an emergency;
- “Preparedness” section is where you will find information on preparing for various kinds of emergencies:
- “During a Disaster” provides an “I’m Okay” contact form, a “Where am I” personal locator and a damage report form, as well as tip for staying safe during emergencies.
Also included is an anonymous tip feature, which goes directly to Lyndhurst police detectives, information on traffic and power outages, a Special Needs Registry and social media integration from township police, firefighters, EMS and OEM.
In case of an emergency, you can get directions to the nearest shelters.
You can also instantly report street light outages to police.
On top of that, you can link into the Municipal Court to pay your tickets.
